Scrappy Tumbler

I have started in on a new project. I have 783 five inch tumbler quilt piece to cut and sew together. I am excited about this quilt. It really isn't FOR any one I just liked the pattern when it appeared on the front of the BH&G Patchwork and Quilting Calendar for this year. At least I think it is an 2008 calendar. It's down on my cutting table or I would check for sure. It is to be cut from 1800 type fabric...so I am stretching my imagination and using mostly those packs of material quarters I have bought at quilt shows for years.

I won't be able to attend the MN annual Quilt Show as my usual companion I travel with to these has decided to attend a quilter's retreat with some younger quilting ladies this year. I am feeling less shut out than I felt at first....sort of like when my new ex-doctor told me I had aged out of having a physical and called it a courtesy. I'm now looking for a new primary doctor. I can do a lot on my own, I'll miss the MN show, but life's goes on and I am going to Connecticut in June/July for a lengthy visit and there will be plenty of time to visit the Amish Communities in Pennsylvania.

So on with the Scrappy Tumbler quilt with only (?) 783 pieces. Today I am devoting to pressing and cutting. I feel in good spirits now that I have shared this.

MIZ POLLY>>>>>>>Your Gators won't go hungry this spring. Miz Rhoda has food for them. YAY!

Now find a Dr that RESPECTS ppl no matter what their calendar year reads. My Aunt has an awful time finding one that asks her to come back with her chronic conditions. They think she is old enuf (at 70 and only has had this for 5 years) to have learned how to live with it by now. How crass can you get?

Know what it feels like when you can't take yourself...it has taken me a coupla years to accept the fact. Can you contact the Guild that is putting it on and maybe one of their Hubby's might be kind enuf to take you OR a Guild member that is in your area? I'd hate for you to miss it.

Your tumbler quilt sounds like fun. Just to do cause YOU want to...that's my kind of quilt : )

Butterfly (Enjoy your posts--you'll have to keep us updated as you go on with it. Are you going to do all the cutting first, or cut as you go?)

Sorry you can't go to the MN show this year. My DM and I have been making a trip of it the last 4-5 years and I always enjoy it. Where abouts are you at Rhonda?

The project sounds fun. Lot of pieces to cut though.

Thanks to all of you for your messages. I have pressed all my light colored, medium and dark colors for the Scrappy Tumbler quilt. I have the pattern in place and will start cutting and sewing just as soon as I successfully get the warm clothes and flannel sheets washed and packed away. I am always surprise with I open up my spring and summer clothes and discover that styles haven't really changed and I actually don't need a thing for the new season.

On the new Celiac diet I find I have developed a bulge here and there. A warning that I must bake my own gluten free bread and pancakes. And satisfy my hunger with "water."

Thanks aga>I have started in on a new project. I have 783 five inch tumbler
