Finished Finished Finished

B's plane quilt is FINISHED FINISHED FINISHED and she LOVES it...says it's puffy enuf ...

And then, I'm still working on SIL's Star Afghan (crochet) and hope to have it 'sewn together' with yarn by her HB in Oct or by Christmas, but I thought I'd let you have a peek at it anyway.

Absolutely gorgeous quilt, Butterfly! And I just love that afghan. Are all the shapes made identically? How nice it is turning out!

Finished is indeed good and well done I will add. The crocheted star is so warm and cozy looking. Lucky recipients!

Got it from a Crochet pattern Book in 1979: McCall's Super-Book of Afghans. Named: Star Quilt Afghan. SIL asked NOT to buy all the diff yarns at once but as I made other afghans to use some of each skein in her afghan...thus it taking soooooo long to complete. She helped me lay out the design when she was here over the holidays. Not much help.but I wonder if the Copyright has expired? I did find it in Old Time Crochet Patterns and designs 1984 so it has to be an OLD Pattern.

Butterfly (Thanks for the compliments)

They're all diamonds and then sewn (or crocheted--I Like sewing better--looks nicer) into the star and then the 3 white ones are sewn to complete each block.

Butterfly (DD was very pleased with the quilt)

It's gonna be hard to part with the afghan cause I've worked on it forever

Butterfly (But she has earned' it with all the help she has given us over the years)

I thought you might. DO you crochet at all?

Butterfly (Wondering if she CAN share the pattern..would it be like a quilt pattern that has been around forever)

I got a chair with wheels on it this time. I sold my Sweet16HQ. I did not have as much room in my new sewing room for her and I wanted someone to enjoy her. I sold it on Ebay, made a great sale ($$$$) and the buyer paid the shipping ($450) to Washington State. So now my quilting will be the part I like best, piecing and I will leave the quilting for someone else to do. I figure all the money I got for the HQ will keep me in quilting for a long time.

Good to see you are still fluttering around,

Very nice. I especially like the afghan, since I have 10 thumbs when it comes to crochet-I just can't get it! Gen

Butterfly: Wow ... both projects are lovely. That is a very unusual (to me) afghan pattern. Your SIL will be thrilled. PAT, happy dancing among the daffodils in Virginia

Thank you. SIL's seen the afghan and helped me arrange it. I have to admit I have enjoyed working on it especially cause there wasn't a deadline. DD worked on the set-up of the quilt, also--thus the sky/clouds between the blocks.

Butterfly (looking forward to seeing daffodils, tulips, etc in ppl's yards as we travel)

Great quilt! Used some of the plane material in a quilt I made for my youngest grandson.

Drooling over the crochet quilt. Beautiful!
