The Blue Star Quilt

Remember back when I was recovering from having my spine fused together and then had to have my left hip joint replaced and I won't bring up the less major health hurtles and get right to the point. You blessed souls sent me red, white and blue materials (that's because I am an overseas Navy Veteran of World War II) to cheer me up. Webshots has a picture of the red star quilt and the blue star quiilt that I made with those materials. WELL, I finally have the blue one quilted and tied and off the 94 inch quilting frame and am ready to secure the two borders and bind it off. But those chores are minor details, what is a milestone to me is actually getting one quilted. This blue one is for my grandson Jesse who is in college. He is thrilled with the prospect of it's being done in time to warm him up. The temps are predicted to be to 50 below zero wind chill tonight.

Burr! I'm going to get into my "toad in a puddle" quilt which is actually shown at my web site under the quilts that live at my house.

Thanks to all who replied to my post. And also all who visited my website. Next time perhaps you'd like to sign my quest book to let me know WHO you are. I was thrilled to see that almost a hundred quilters came visiting. If you dropped in I'd have plenty of Gevalia coffee to offer you.

Thanks aga>Remember back when I was recovering from having my spine fused

I wanted to follow up on this entry and tell you all that grandson Jesse a freshman at college came down to get his Blue Star Quilt and loves it. He knows that all of you contributed to the beautiful of his gift and considers it not just from his grandmother, but all her quilting friends. He worked on a tree and landscaping company out in Oregan for two year after high school, so he is fitting in pretty good for an older student. So though the materials were sent to me to keep me working hard to get well and cheer me along....I've always like sharing. SO! Now I am quilting on the Red Star Quilt and that quilt is for ME and I am watching BallykissAngel and All Creatures Great and Small on my DVD my son Matthew brought down to me and installed as I quilt the hours away. Thank you all from the very bottom of my heart for your loving gifts of Red, White and Blue materials from your stashes.
