This is not OT. We are h-i-g-h as the Georgia pines. We have floors! (including the quilting room which puts this on topic) !! - and glue fumes from where the seams are. We have the doors and windows open and an outside temp of 47°. Probably will wake up tomorrow (maybe) with killer headaches and smiles all the way around our heads. Hot dog, this is beautiful. Was it worth it? and would we do it again? Heck no. If any of you Old Hippies would like to join us in a very expensive 'high', come on down. Polly

uh Polly, that sure sounds way more expensive than the usual high. that said, if you grow your own its even less expensive. keep those windows open all night if ya have to. just stay up all night. as windows open do leave ya open to the baddys come'n round. if you're awake they shouldnt bother ya much tho. just put on more clothes to keep the cold at bay. tho that temp isnt all that bad. maybe its here its not that bad, lol. do check in again tomorrow early so we all know you're not gone from the fumes. another old hippie happy dance'n in the sand under the palms in the south pacific, j.

Gators don't crawl through open windows, do they? Or do the glue fumes send them to the other side of the swamp!

Congrats on the new floors. We need to do new carpeting in a few rooms here... the thought of that is so daunting... makes you look beyond the spots!

The fumes seem to be gone now - but we will walk Yogi outside for a while. Maybe we've just become accustomed to the fumes but an outside walk and return should tell us. Does anybody have a canary they truly hate? Polly

Actually Polly it was the fumes that killed 3 of my beloved birds. Just be careful with those fumes.

We won't worry about the gators - they all have their snouts comfortably buried in the nice warm mud. As to replacing carpet - do get the best floor guy you can afford. We have a 50' run in the tiles from den to pantry that is so true and straight that only a quilter could appreciate. Wonder if we could enter our new floor in a quilt show? It could happen. Polly

I'm of the Old Hippie age, but never really fit into the mold. However, I'd still come down just to watch the two of you experience it! So glad you're enjoying the floors. Isn't it fun?

That straight seam in the tiles could come in very handy for fume impaired field testing.....

OK Mr. & Mrs. Ester......please take ten steps heel to toe along the line while closing your eyes and touching the tip of your nose with your left index finger and counting backwards from 24 and stopping at 13.......and no giggling!

Aha. Methinks our friend Val has taken a sobriety test often enough to remember the details. Very suspicious, Val, but we don't rat on our quilting buddies. Your secret is safe with us. Polly
