Happy Dance - PP quilt finished!!!

I have finally finished my Ice Fishing lap size quilt. It's my "winter" quilt for my quilt rack and I absolutely love it. My first PP project too. The instructions rated it 4 stars out of 5 in terms of difficulty but that didn't scare me.....I just had to have that quilt!!!!! The PP of the blocks went quite smoothly for a first-timer and I'm sure I'll do another at some point. DH is still amazed at the patience required....You can take a peek at the pics in my More Quilts album if you have a spare minute

I can certainly see why you had to make that quilt! I bet it looks even better in person - I'll be right over.

You have captured the 'Essence of COLD' cause that is what I think of when I think ice fishing. Once was enuf for this gal......more fun fly fishing ; )

That absolutely shimmers! Is it done in all cotton or did you add some specialty fabric to give it that effect?

Thanks Butterfly Never been ice fishing myself.....way too cold for this gal and I don't fish in the summer either

Thanks Louise.........it's all unwashed cotton. The "water" was machine quilted by meandering and the Ice crystals and fishies were stitiched in the ditch around each. Then washed. which poofed them out. Some poofed more than othes due to different shrinkage I presume.

QoS......I wanna SEE your Dancing In The Moonlight quilt....you HAVE made one, haven't you? I won't share my 'vision' of what it might look like--I wanna see yours. That would be a neat Christmas present for me---no----not you sending me the quilt altho I wouldn't refuse it--just a pix of it for now........

Butterfly (after you enter it in a few contests and win a few blue ribbons then I would request it for MY Boudoir--and let you keep the ribbons : )

Ann it's beautiful. I used to exclusively like PP, as a newbie is a way to get results you can't get piecing. Now I'm addicted to the speed of machine piecing (I'm a very results oriented person) but there are some PP patterns in Quilts With Style mag that I'm dying to make.... now, where to find the time.... Great job!

It's gorgeous, Ann. The fabrics are so clear and bright - and icy looking. The whole effect is stunning. I love it. Congratulations on a beautiful piece of work. . In message , Ann writes

Thanks Pat. Yep DIL is THE best ...not saying so just because I'm prejudice but she is. She saw a pic of a bride in a magazine and had to have the same hair do, jewellery and dress type and she succeeded!!!! DS had tears in his eyes when she came down the aisle and can't say I blame him :)))
