...and from me too. May everything you wish for come to you, and may the world have a peaceful 2007.

(and may I learn to write 2007 instead of starting 199..!!)

I, too, would pray for peace - for us as individuals, and for the world as a whole.

(First thing to do, Sally, is go through your cheque book and write the year in on the first ten or so!!!) . In message , Sally Swindells writes

Hello everyone, I have been away for a while, with good reason. We now have 2 beautiful grandchildren. Norah is now 6 months old and Jacob is 2

1/2 months old. I am in heaven!!! I had some minor health issues, but they are all cleared up now too. Not too much quilting going on, but I have managed to embroider some cute things for them. Missed you all and I wish all good things for you in this new year.

I will change my posting name soon too! Linda in Fairview Texas

I just wanted to drop by and wish everyone a Happy New Year, not to mention a safer, happier and " quiltier " 2007! I wasn't very productive quiltwise last year, unfortunately, but I have good intentions of finishing " something " this year. As with last year, I bought the Quilt Block-A-Day desk calendar and just spent some time cutting and pinning what I needed for the first block ( I doubled up, so I am making two ). I will get that sewn and pressed later today when I have a little more time. I am not too impressed with this year's choice of blocks and quilts selected, but I am hoping to stay motivated. I don't know that I really want to make any resolutions for the coming year, but I would like to complete at least a few quilts, make some quilted items for Christmas gifts and such and just generally be a kinder, more tolerant person. Even though I don't post here much, I do read the newsgroup several times throughout the day and I would like to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge of quilting and tips. It has been a great help! Thank you!

As Sairey reminds us, whatever you do on New Year's Day you'll do every day for the rest of the year. (So: don't do laundry!)

I quilted. And I shopped. Good way to start 2007.

Me too -DD1 left this morning, my workroom is my own again. Still, it's sad to wave goodby to the last guest. OTOH, I can be glad my children are self-supporting with homes of their own! Now if only they would settle down enough to provide me with a grandbaby or 2! Happy New Year to all, Roberta in D

Laundry is no problem, as long as the washer holds up. I did a little sewing too, so that's sorted! Roberta in D

I actually DID run a few loads of laundry on New Year's Day!! It was ONLY new quilting fabric, including quite a few FQ, baseball swap squares, and some pieces about 1 yard each ... NOT soiled clothing. I guess that is okay. I wanted to sew, but not think, so I put together some of the pieced two square units I'd collected all year, to make LOTS of small four patches.

Today I wanted to do have something to 'do' while I watched some of the Ford Funeral Coverage. So I set out an iron and board and pressed out the four patches. Then I sorted the squares I'd washed yesterday. Well, I gotta go now, as I need to put all the clean fabric in proper locations in the sewing room.

All for now. PAT in VA/USA

Congrats! I was just thinking of you earlier today and wondered how the Grandkidlets were:) Now, if you change your posting name how are we going to 'remember' who you are? Some of us think of some of you by your online name..like Sandy to me is Ragmop and I'd have to think hard to remember her first name..... Maybe something like "nana2over" and then if there are any more Grandkidlets, you could be "nana3over", etc :)

Butterfly (First to admit I can't remember names but am quite good at remembering faces )
