Help! Need a more of a fabric found only at Wal-Mart!

Hi there!

I have a friend who is looking for a fabric from Wal-Mart. She has checked the stores in her area (NE PA) and I have checked six in the Washington, DC metro area and one in Baltimore and haven't found it. I have found the other four colors that it comes in, just not the yellow...

I asked a couple of the cutters in the stores I visited if they could do a nation-wide search for me and they kind of stared at me blankly. :-/

Here is the name and numbers that came off of the yellow shelf sticker:

Mirage Glitter Texture - yellow

07463560 7174 and under the bar code: 001920021

It is a blotchy yellow fabric with silver glitter on it. Kind of looks like heavy-duty paint splotches. grin It also comes in kermit-the-frog lime green, turquoise, royal blue, and purple. I have found those four colors, just not the yellow.

She is looking for a 2 yd piece and a 3 1/2 yd piece. If there was enough on a bolt, she would take one 6 yd long piece.

So if you wander through a Wal-Mart, could you check for me? I will pay/trade for the fabric. I have a pretty good size stash and might be able to help you to fill out where yours might be weak... grin

Sorry I can't help and no Wal-Mart near by but maybe as a last resort this site might be able to find it.

Called tonight, would have gone out, but with everyone sick, it wasn't possible. They couldn't find anything like this fabric. Next time I'm out, I will take a walk-through and see if I can find anything.

Cappy - checked tonight at my local Walmart - they said they had 4 yards...on the "$1" table!!!! They said that the shops in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg both have some. I will try to give both stores a call tomorrow to see if they actually have it in stock.

well, no such luck with: Staunton, Va, Harrisonburg-A, or Harrisonburg

-B....on phone with Charlottesville right now, and the lady there is actually willing to LOOK in their clearance sections!!!

Will update again as I can...well crap, will update now. They don't have any either. Like you found, it's the lime green, purple, turquoise, and royal blue.

I will keep on the hunt though to see if I can find it anywhere else....

Larisa, bummed because Waynesboro gave me a good lead that turned out not to be accurate after all .

Hi, I'm new to this group but will look for this in Madison Heights and/or Lynchburg Wal-Marts. We just got back from Waynesboro's Wal-Mart awhile ago. They had the most fabric tonight that I've ever seen there. A lot of $2.00/yd and $1.00/yd bolts. I probably won't get to Madison Heights or Lynchburg until next weekend since we live in the country (Nelson, Co.).

Sorry Cappy :-( After travelling to the various "local" stores I have been "S-o-L" when it comes to finding this fabric. I will keep hunting though...you never know when and where it might turn up!

I'm just so puzzled as to why only the yellow is not available? I'm finding all of the other colors. Maybe it was last printed last year and the others have had more recent printings? Or is there a run for yellow costumes or something? grin Just a puzzlement...

I checked this morning in Morgantown, PA. They had blue, turquoise, green and purple...sorry no yellow!

I checked the Walmart in Exton, PA today...they had three colors, but no yellow. Sorry!

I checked with the Walmart in Yorktown, VA. They had none of it. I did manage to buy three new-to-me polka dot fabric!

I was told that the cut fabric department was already discontinued at the store in Newport News, at Jefferson and 64. I don't like that store enough to go there, so I don't care. As it is, I do not shop Walmart often ... maybe once in two months.

Pat, I never shopped Walmart either, until we moved here. There's a brand-new Super Center two minutes away. (I can walk there in 20 mins.) Considering everything else is 30 minutes away, I'm in there all the time!!!
