Help Please fabric gift boxes

Feb 06, 2007 40 Replies

Not so long ago someone posted pictures of some gorgeous little favour boxes made of fabric. They were beaded and embroidered.

The thread included links to other box designs for similar items. I have searched and Googled but I can't find them.

Grateful if anyone can help by pointing me in the right directions. TIA

I love these Little Treasures fabric "boxes". I don't do fancy computer stuff, but I asked my printer to make it the size of a sheet of paper and the enlarging worked very well.

All the girls here for sit'n'sew are VERY impressed with how fast someone got back with the answer lol

Do you know where I can find the links to the other similar little boxes?

Here's the link to the pattern. Tell your printer to print it "full page" and it will come out great. If you print "as is"...you'll get a very cute little ring box. I tried it!! Have fun! Ask Patti in Seattle how addicting they are!

I have some pictures in my Webshots album.

the girls" Hi"!

Sorry, Cheryl. That's the only one I can think of right now. I lost all my quilting links when I got that stupid System Mechanics program installed- it went bonkers and ate a bunch of my saved goodies. Cursed program, any way!!!

TVM for the main link - the girls at sit'n'sew (who mostly do not use PCs at all) were amazed that I could ask a question and that someone would just pop up with the answer so fast. They probably think it is all dome by magic rofl

This all started because Patti sent me the most gorgeous little gift box and when it arrived all the sit'n'sew girls wanted to make some.

Patti - thankyou SO much. You have created a new craze over here with your wonderful gift.

Isn't it? . In message , CATS writes

It was actually KJ's original post that got me hooked - I fell in love with those little darlings! I sent KJ several emails, asking questions, and she was a wonderful help. Glad you like it! Your group will love making them, they go really fast. One of those "instant gratification" projects.

Computers are filled with little imps that pedal furiously, getting us all our information. But they have a limited life, and after 5 years some of them start to evaporate. You can top them up, like bean bag chairs, but the new imps don't have all the information at their paw ends the way the old ones did...

Patti, the mail just arrived here and i am instantly gratified. of course the poifect colour, as if there'd be any other from you, lol. i love it so much. must try one myself now. i'll try a double/triple layer of some fuseable i've got, if i can find it in the room which is still a mess til ds moves out...soon i hope, well, i hope but will miss his smiling face round here for sure. oops, i'm rambling again. i see you make your own cards too, how clever are you. i'm totally impressed, girl. :) needless to say, i love the treasure box and will save the Dove's til V-Day when i'm sure i'll need the boost in energy as it is a working day, a long long long working day for us...our busiest of the yr, so i'll be on the road throwing flowers at folks yet again. : / thank you so much for thinking of me. sounds like you're make'n a million of these, lol. melting in the south pacific (tho cher assures me some coolness is on the way, i hope so, lol), jeanne

Jeanne So glad it finally arrived! Isn't the color just spectacular? Saw that fabric, and guess who I instantly thought of? :->

You'll really enjoy making these, they are just delightful, and fun little things to bestow upon unsuspecting quilters and girlfriends........

hey Patti, what did you use inside for the stiffness? hugz right back atcha, j.

Is Timtex too stiff to use? I have a bunch of it. Never did make the bowls.

Jeanne, I had the same question...... KJ advised using 50 wt Pellon, and it was perfect. I think Timtex would be too stiff... it doesn't "give" enough to fold the little treasures up...... If you don't have 50 wt Pellon over there, let me know. I'll send you some.
