My idea was to machine embroider gold stars. I got my machine all set up with the emb. unit and then couldn't find a star on any of my disks; then couldn't find what I wanted online. I don't want something that uses tons of thread as it is a pretty large quilt. On the other hand, I don't want to just do a simple free-motion star because the stars won't be as bold as I want. I need a kind of "tacking" star that is at least 1/2". I will try to post a picture sometime today.

Can you get a gold braid or something like that -- then using a template -- couch it. That would give it much prominance... without taking forever and a day -- or miles and miles of thread.
Just one idea.
