hi - i goofed and my quilt block is 10 in square instead of 101/2 in sq. How can I add to it to make it larger? I'm a beginner & didn't cut the right size template for triangles.

Frame it with a nice 1" border with one of the fabics you used maybe! Ask me how I know this! lol
Use the "wrong" block on the back as a label and start gain - if it's only one block.
Depending on your block designs and quilt layout a very thin frame might not be appropriate. If you are making a sampler quilt make up all your blocks, frame them all with about 1
1/2" frames and then trim them all to a standard size. Any tiny differences will not be noticed.I second all the suggestions to add a border to the block. Since it's only a half inch, you might consider bordering only 2 sides to avoid dealing with very narrow strips. Sounds almost like your quarter-inch seam isn't scant enough! Have you measured to be sure your seam is accurate? Might be a cutting issue too, especially if you don't use a rotary cutter. Or if you use the grid on the cutting mat for measuring, instead of your ruler. Roberta in D
