I don't know anything about Husqvarna machines.. but here are a few ebay sales that you might find helpful.

Also find out what additional items are included in the sale...

check out these ebay sold items by going to

formatting link
and typing in the item # in the search field:

#230225355674 -- sold for just over $750 #220204390926 -- sold for $799 #250218107392 -- sold for $605 #220203308896 -- sold for $690 #170193064717 -- sold for just over $760

So it would appear that the $1000 is on the high side -- but again -- look at the sales above -- see what all they have included... and compare that to what is included with your machine.

Also remember that in addition to the selling price.. those ebayers had to pay shipping costs... which ranged from $35 - $115 (don't understand the variation - -but that's what was posted!).

Hope this helps!

That seemed sort of high so I called my Viking dealer. They have a 5yo Rose $400.00 (with everything that comes with it when sold as new) and comes with a one year guarantee ....(sales pitch) --> AND you can trade it in any time during 2008 for a NEW machine and get the full price credited to purchase.

I'd search around a bit more, try the Craig's list in your area.

Hi Lorraine,

I purchased a Rose last summer as a 2nd machine. Several reasons, mainly it shares the same cards as my Viking 1+ and also shares the snap on feet. I LOVE the machine and it is usually set up for embroidery only (leaving my 1+ for other things).

It is hard to establish value without knowing more. Is the seller the original owner? What comes with it? Has it be serviced recently?

Personally I think that is a bit on the high side but it depends on condition and what else comes with it.

I purchased my Rose for $600 locally - it came with all of the attachments it had when it was new (inc. embroidery unit, embroidery card, all the feet, pencils, accessories, etc), the quilters kit, a 8 thread spool rack, and the Viking reader/writer and card to download designs (she also thre in several cones of thread and two bags of fabric!!). The owner was a employee at the local Viking dealer and took great care of the machine.

She had never had it serviced though, so that is the first thing I had done.

Hello happyangel50! I don't know about those SM, so I'd just like to say Welcome to the Land of RCTQ. We have fun here, no moderator, no rules. The only thing you really need to know is that it is very wise to have your chocolate vetted. Just send a pound or two to the Office of the Official Chocolate Taster of RCTQ, which is in my Palace here in Virginia. I will test and taste and report back via email. You don't have to thank me ... this is my unselfish volunteer duty in RCTQ. A tough job, but someone's gotta do it. :)

I paid $800 for mine. It is a Rose 605 not sure of the yr. A gal in one of my groups had to sell hers and I got it.
