I just posted my quilts made in 2007

I can hardly believe this is all I've gotten done in 7 months, but I just posted the three quilts I've made this year. I am working on learning free-motion quilting so I did two of the quilts. The other one I paid to have quilted because I knew I couldn't get it done in time. I plan to deliver it this month when I go to CA to visit family. I am pleased with the way they turned out and my husband thinks the pink one may be the prettiest I have made yet.

Indeed, they are lovely. Although I am not a 'pink' user (well, hardly ever!), I agree that the pink one is very pretty - perhaps it is the black 'leading'? Whatever the case, it is great. . In message , Idahoqltr writes

I like all three, but I have to say that my favorite is the lion quilt! The personality in the lions, the layout, it all looks good to me. :)

Sheesh!!! If that were "all" I'd gotten done in 7 months I'd be feeling pretty darn proud of myself, and you should be! They're all lovely and the pink is my fav. Congrats!

It is a stained glass crazy quilt. You cut squares of each fabric and stack them. Cut them all at once then shuffle each section. I used

12" squares. My cutting pattern was made with a slice through the center, then divide up each half so that no lines meet anywhere. Then I used 1 1/2" black straight grain strips to connect them. Then you square the block up when it is all assembled. I did two different stacks of 7 fabrics. To shuffle you move piece 1 to bottom of set one, top two pieces to bottom of second set, top 3 pieces to bottom of set 3,... It's really quite easy and fun.

Nice work, I certainly love Kayla's. Dancing in the moonlight for 2007!

So it's like a Stack & Slash with black strips to join the pieces. That would keep your blocks from shrinking so much from fabric lost to seam allowances. I'm saving fabrics for a red and white quilt and this might be a good method to try out for it. Debra in VA See my quilts at
