Finished quilts

I've finally put pictures online of a couple recent quilts. I made a "Brown Bear" quilt for our new grandson.

I machine quilted circles around the animal blocks and then quilted around each animal. The fabric is from Andover Fabrics and is based on the picture book by Eric Carle:

or The pattern is Warm Wishes from quiltmaker.com . This is one of my favorites for a quick, easy small quilt. I cut the panel up and adjusted the size of the other blocks to match.

I also made a quilt for our granddaughter's "big girl" bed The pattern is "Lindsay" by Karen Montgomery; it was a freebie on the Timeless Treasures website at one time, but it doesn't seem to be out there any more. The trickiest part was the mitered stripe blocks, especially since the measurements were off for those; I had been warned by a friend who had made the pattern, so I recalculated and tested on another striped fabric. I love the circle quilting on the brown bear quilt - very nice. And what a great treat for your granddaughter's big girl bed - the colors are wonderful. I think you made her a very happy little girl.

The circle quilting wasn't an original idea. Someone on this group (can't remember who) had done a similar thing on a Warm Wishes quilt. It wasn't you, was it Louise?

I did some circle quilting on one of Polly's quilts - it wasn't a Warm Wishes, but it may be what you're thinking of. I really like the way circles complement the straight lines.
