Oh Joan, those are wonderful! I love them both. The colors and quilting in the Serenity Circles are just great! Are the fabrics from a specific collection? BTW....will you be attending the Ricky Tims seminar in Omaha in August?

Yes, the fabric in Serenity Circles was all from a Westex line, the name of which escapes me at the moment. It's all taupey and has been advertised in some of the national magazines. Somebody help me out here!

No plans to attend the Ricky Tims seminar, although I've met several people who are going.

I've been collecting the Daibo taupes....or Dai..something. Would those be the same ones? I love those soft muted colors. Of course, I also love loud obnoxious colors. Go figure. I'll have to remember that pattern when I decide to use my taupe collection. I have the registration form for the seminar right in front of me. I was thinking about making it my birthday present to myself! Omaha isn't that far from me.....I can set the cruise control and nap all the way from Iowa City on I-80.....

The baby quilt is bright and cheerful - just right for a little one; but the Serenity Circles is beautiful - such an apt name. I love all the secondary patterns that emerge the more you look at it - nothing overall, but little areas of a different vision. So pretty. . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

Quilting was done at Country Sampler, West Center store, Omaha NE. A spiral pattern in a rusty colored thread.

Thank you,

Piggybacking here.... I seem to have missed the original post somehow. Anyway, I like that Sudoku quilt for a baby; the colors are so happy! But those Serenity Circles -- wow! They're just gorgeous, and the quilting is amazing! Does that one need a home? ;)

AAAhhhh yes! I have numerous fat quarters of those. They meld so well with each other. Did you say there are templates for this pattern?

Very nice, Joan. Atta girl!

The templates are sold by the same woman who designed the pattern for Serenity Circles. It's Elisa's Backporch. BTW, if you should buy the pattern, there's a mistake in the fabric requirements.
