I'm going to have to be reallllllly careful to be sure that DH never sees this magnificent creation. He will always be an Earnhardt #3 fan . . . and if he had any idea that you could write Earnhardt with your quilting, he would be sending Noel back to you for embellishing. LOL. That was the first time I'd ever done that, and was happy with the way it turned out. But it'll be our secret, okay? We'll have to find something other than Noel that might require the Earnhardt name!

Louise, I think you did a great job! The checkered border is just right, and I love the way you trapunto-ed the title and date. :)

But, alas, no feathers on this one! I just didn't think they'd work on a Nascar-themed quilt!

My one regret with the quilt I made for my stepson is that I didn't quilt in the name and date like I did on this one. On the other hand, I was doing only hand quilting then, and all that stippling would have driven me crazy!
