Finished is *very* good, Joan! That "big boy" quilt is darling, but I love, love, *love* the whirligigs quilt! Is that from the book by Martha Thompson? I have her hexagon book, but I may have to get the Square Dance one, too -- her techniques are so good! :)

Yes, that's the book. I have always loved the whirligigs and even made one before many years ago. But the cutting out and piecing was painfully tedious. The Square Dance method is so easy and fun! It wastes a little bit of material, but it's worth it! I want to make more. Like brights and every other block black? Or 30's fabric and muslin. Or .....

Thanks for telling me that, Joan! I agree about the tedium of cutting and piecing, so it's good to know that the Square Dance thing doesn't do it as much. :)
