Oh Joan - you are amazing! You may say never again to a sampler quilt, but I say that does a disservice to the rest of the world >g< It is gorgeous. And that Drunkard's Path variation on the four patch kaleidoscope is really beautiful. I see why you were so pleased at having thought of it. Well done you. The other thing I really like is the way you set your pineapples. I have always steered away from pineapples 'en masse' because they always seem just too spiky to me; but grouping them like this, they are still spiky, but there seems to be more than that to them - more of a purpose? Anyway, I really like your work. Keep up the good work - it's refreshing to see. . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

Your "Blue Kentucky Home" is just gorgeous! What was it you didn't like about making a sampler quilt?

Your work is just wonderfu Joan. Your mother is going to love it. I'm with you on the sampler thing! I'm working on a "sampler" of 60 degree triangles. It's major disorder of my sewing room, cutting surface and design wall. There's really no putting it away until it's sewn together. Here's what I'm working on...

Joann taught a workshop here a couple weeks ago. We had a blast at her lecture and workshop...she's hilarious in an understated way. I'd recommend her to anyone considering a class from her.I'll probably have 9 million seams too. And although right now the top looks fairly big on the design wall, when I start sewing it together it's going to shrink a whole lot. I won't be making another one of these!!KJ

Ahhhh, you're just saying that to keep me from giving up! But thanks for the encouragement. I'll keep plugging away on it. You know what's going to happen don't you? I'll keep making combinations and end up with too many! KJ

Nice quilts Joan, I'm particularly fond of the pineapple. Your blend of colors works great.
