GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! (on topic)

Ever had one of 'those' days? My mental agenda decided that I could finish Xmas in July number 1 today. Not a wonderfully written pattern; fabric raveled a bit; way too many pieces, etc. Then this afternoon as I'm assembling the outer border, I noticed that I'd put the stars together incorrectly. All four of them. Rip, rip, rip, rip. Did one wrong TWICE!

But I absolutely cannot leave a mess. I took the border apart, took the stars apart, put the stars back together and have two sides put on correctly. Next the cornerstones (pieced, of course) and the last two sides. I will be happy when this one is done so I can start Xmas in July number 2 (same fabric in a differently color way and the same pattern designer). Not.

I did a lot of frog stitching on the hummingbird yesterday so I know where you are coming from.

This is a store sample for our Xmas in July promotion. (July 25-26, Country Sampler, Omaha and Papillion NEbraska, drop on in.) So this beauty has got to be in for quilting and all done in time for the event. I'm not a 'last minute' sort of gal. (A Virgo, always 15 minutes early for an appointment or I think I'm late.)

Commiserations! Hope you wrote the designer a note. I'm on #2 of 5 celtic knot appliques, and very aware of why I Dislike Applique so much! But it was just the right thing to do :-p Roberta in D

I feel your pain. I ran across a "napster" on the web and decided that I could do that. No pattern but it gave the dimensions so I figured that it could not be that hard and I need a bday gift for greatniece so let's see what I can do. I put it together 3 times wrong before I finally got it come out the right way. I spent more time ripping than I did sewing! But it is finished and cute so there you go.

(Napster is like a quillow but it does not tuck into the pocket....folds up over the removable pillow and has a button closure. Used for kiddos at daycare or for a napping place for visiting toddlers.)

Oh, but Joan it is absolutely beautiful. Your pieces are getting more enviable (and covetable) by the month!).

I do feel your pain, if you say you will vacuum for fun! I'm doing a piece that I will be so very glad when it is done, I might join you >g< . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

That is just stunning! What is the pattern? I've got some "free" time coming up. And I will need something to keep the mind (and hands) occupied.

I'm sorry. I could have sworn I gave the pattern information below the photo. Obviously, not.

It is Stars a Plenty by Dellora Gauger for Jackie's Animas Quilts. The fabric is Maywood Studio Poinsettia in the Traditional colorway.
