Grrrrrrrrr I'm so angry!!!!

and I did it to myself!

I bought 110" backing for the wedding quilt I'm working on... and bought extra yardage for the outer border of the quilt.

So I thought I would be smart -- I would rip the fabric to separate the backing section from the border section.

I clipped the selvage and did my first pull... fine... okay. grabbed the two sections for the 2nd pull... and I don't know what I did... but it ripped perpendicular up into the middle of the backing section!!!!

So I finished the unwanted rip... then finished the incomplete rip and then sewed the two parts together. So much for having a seamless back on the quilt!

GRRRRRRR

BTDT ... haven't we all? ;) Did something similar a few months ago, with some backing for a Quilt of Valor. We ended up using a different fabric. Now we are using the mishap fabric for another QoV, but are piecing in a contrast fabric. It works. I wish you good luck wiht the rest of the project. PAT

Oh, how utterly frustrating! :(

I understand Kate. It's so frustrating when you have the perfect plan and something goes awry. However, the wedding quilt with a seam in the backing will be just as appreciated and loved as one without a seam. :-)
