What Did I Get Myself Into?

I need far more time to do all the things that I have going in my mind, or many more arms (think Vishnu).

It's South Pacific's annual bead strand sale. I adore South Pacific, and can't seem to resist buying boatloads of stuff from them. Right now, they're offering great big strands of "Strawberry [blueberry, pineapple, whatever fruit you have in mind] Quartz" (streaked glass) for $2.50/strand.

They're still offering their white pearl deal: 100 strands for $100. I bought this deal last fall and split it with a bunch of folks here on RCB. Because I use boatloads of pearls for everything, I bought the deal again. If anyone here wants a few strands of pearls for a buck apiece, drop me an email. Trades are even more welcome than money - I'm always looking for interesting stuff.

I'm still recovering [slowly] from the flu, so beading hasn't been a priority all week. So, I've been doing research for my ongoing cultural bead project. I'm gaining great appreciation for all sorts of beaded projects and the immense patience of so many people. I am also in awe of all the different types of Native American beadwork - I could spend a lifetime just learning about that.

Lastly, in the "now I've heard it all" category: My mother called me to complain that she can't wear her Christmas present (a citrine and amethyst necklace), because "it's too nice, and my coworkers are already jealous of my jewelry."

I offered to take all that stuff off her hands, but Mom said that she'll choose to suffer. Being the helpful sort, I then offered to replace the good stuff I made with crummy stuff. That offer was turned down as well - go figure. Just no pleasing some people. :-)

Yeah, post what you're looking for. I might have to give in and have some of those pearls but it would please my poor quivering credit card if I could offset it with some swapsies. And I can get UK stuff if there's anything you want but can't get over there...

Can't speak for other beaders but I never have even the slightest of ideas why I buy beads or bead related stuff! Except that they're oh so pretty. I never know what I'm going to to with them! Eventually they speak to me and find their way into some jewellery!
