I'm a lucky guy

So, Bert is off to volunteer at the community center tonight as he does four nights a month, and that means that I have about four hours to sew uninterrupted. How exciting. I go over to my sewing desk to get busy and there is a packet of computer printer fabric and one of those kits to make a bowl out of fabric and timtex. My guy got it for me when he went to town yesterday. But of course I didn't notice it until today. Bad of me. But anyways, as exasperated as he gets with me sometimes and all my sewing, he still gets me such things from time to time. So, I'm a lucky guy.

That is sweet. I always thought it was those little things that meant the most... Does he have a brother?? lol j/k I am jealous more thoughh about the fact you live in Alaska. I used to live up near Prince Rupert in BC which is right near the most southern tip of Alaska, but the whole Northern coast is my favorite place on this earth.. I have missed it since my parents moved up down to the lower mainland of BC on the Washington border, and have tried to move back north ever since. What part of Alaska are you in? I saw some of the pictures on your site before of the flowers and such. Very beautiful

You certainly are Steve. I think he deserves a nice container/vase as a reward for his thoughtfulness!

Yes you are. My DH is like that. He may not understand the desire to cut up pieces of fabric and put them all back together again, but he knows that it is something that is relaxing and enjoyable for me. That's all he needs to know to support my hobby. Isn't it nice to be able to just enjoy your hobby vs sneaking your new stuff in when he isn't looking.

Have fun Steve. And be sure to share the results with us!!!

Aww, you sure are ;-)

What's the computer-printer fabric like? I saw some that had keyboard keys all over it, but I can't picture printers.

You are indeed a lucky guy and so is Bert. Perhaps a little gift of a bowl to hold his change would be in order?????

Isn't that sweet : ) Now you ARE going to make one for him aren't you? Are you going to use the paper to at pixs of the 2 of you on it and make it outta that? That would be neat for Christmas : )

I made one for each of my guys. DH had one that had been made of Christmas cards crocheted together until it was literally falling apart (it was a gift from our "adopted Grandma"). He asked what he was going to do with 2 of them. Without my knowing it--he pitched the worn one and is using the Timtex one : ) I see now that I need to amke him another for his nightstand. DS used his right from the get go.

Yes, you're a lucky guy! Does he give lessons to DHs? I can't complain. Mine would never surprise me, but he never blinks at how much I spend. Gen
