Good scrapbooking magazines?

Hello, My name is Angel (aka dairy_angel because my husband is a dairy farmer). I am restarting scrapbooking. I am a college student, recently married and I want to catch up on my college/wedding pictures. I don't normally do this but I need some help. I am looking for good scrapbooking magazines. I need layout ideas and inspiration. I want to learn about some new techniques and scrapbooking tools. I have no idea where to begin. What are some of the best magazines to subscribe to?

My favorite mag is

The display some of their magazine online, but not all. You make be able to get all the inspiration you need from the website. Another great website is

Another idea is to make contact with a Creative Memories or a TLC consultant...I know they are on this group. :-) I know CM has what they call "power layout" kits. That is a prepackaged kits of matching embellishments and LO ideas. The LOs are often simple, but if you have a lot of pics and little time, these can be useful tools. Good luck and welcome back to scrapbooking!

I prefer scrapbook answers magazine, then scrapbooks etc is a good one too.

2 peas website is a good website, but yoiu can also put scrapbook galleries or scrapbook layouts in the search and find many examples.

I like the Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbooking Etc. one. It seems to have a good balance of articles, samples and information on new products. Plus you can usually (at least for a short time) get 2 years for the price of 1 ($24).

The only scrapbooking magazine I found worth subscribing to is Lasting Moments. It tells you what was used in every layout, has directions, inspirational and relevant scrapbooking articles, a place to write down everything you want to buy and thought provokers, you know, for journalling. It is put out by Creative Memories. It's amazing, like I said, the only one I've subscribed to.

You get 6 issues for $9.97 plus $5 free product gift with your order. Here's the link. I swear by this mag! It's exciting and I read them cover to cover. No outside advertising which is pretty cool.. Last June's was dedicated to wedding albums if you can find a consultant she can order just that one, past mag for you then you can decide whether you want a subscription... that's the way I'd go... Of course, I'm always broke!

Having just tried to make a subscription decision myself, I would suggest buying a few and looking at them. I dog-eared stuff I liked, then subscribed to the ones with the most folded over pages. Since everyone likes different styles, the best way to do is figure out which one fits you the best. I like Simple Scrapbooks and Creating Keepsakes. I bought Scrapbook Answers and found it interesting, but not enough to subscribe right now. I like that old addage: Try before you buy"!

I would also like to echo finding a good Creative Memories consultant or TLC rep. Both are great places for beginners because they sell "reciped" layouts that work. You might also try finding a kit, i.e. SEI's scrapbook in a bag or something like that, where everything is laid out and planned for you. Kathy

A friend of mine subscribes to treasurebox and loves it. Each monthly packet she gets has a 2 page LO plus enough extra stuff to complete four more pages based upon the packet theme. It's a monthly kit club and the total cost including shipping is $19.95. I've seen several of the kits as she brings them to the crops every month to complete. Here's their website:

Creating Keepsakes has 2 years for the price of 1 subscription offer at the moment, therefore 26 issues for US$24.97.

I think I will subscribe to this magazine, the international 2 years subscription to the UK is US$76.97 which makes it A LOT cheaper than the English magazines I subscribe to in the UK! Klara

Hey, I recognized your name from our chat with Barry Kort (online journalism). How funny! I didn't know you liked scrapbooking! We should talk sometime...anyways CreatingKeepsakes is my favorite magazine and I just started subscribing to it (my boyfriend got me a sub. for valentines day:)) But, if you don't want to spend money, you could check out their website because they have a huge idea gallery under the magazine tab. They also have a list of related websites that led me to find more and more idea galleries such as
