I'm getting a Longarm!

I went and did it! I ordered a demo Millenium. It's the one Dawn Cavanagh has been using to demo with. It should be here some time next week. Unfortunately, it's after the start of school AND I've decided to start pursuing a second MA degree - in Instructional Technology this time. Hopefully, I'll find some time. Who needs a clean house or home cooked dinners any way? Linda PATCHogue, NY

I hope you really enjoy that machine a lot Linda. Good for you! Sounds like you have a lot of busy days ahead of you. I'm not sure I ever heard of Dawn Cavanaugh until today. I just saw her article in the new Fons and Porter magazine this afternoon. YOu need a bunch of good crock pot recipes I think. Taria

I am just so happy for you. How exciting, how wonderful. FWIW, sometimes I visit in homes of people who aren't quilters and their standards aren't so hot either. =) You can teach your family to be happy with leftovers. Let them fix their own often enough and they will be delighted to accept anything they don't have to cook. One of my 3-day wonders is a roasted pork loin. Day One - it's sliced and goes great with potatoes and gravy. Day Two - I put some of it into whatever enchilada manana dish is easy. Day Three - the shreds become a great barbeque sandwich with Jack Daniels No. 7 barbeque sauce. Oh my, how we would love to come be a part of your great longarm adventure. We'll hold you close. Have a very wonderful journey. Polly

That sounds great. We are just back from there. We will probably be down there for Thanksgiving. She just bought her house in Springfield. She was very lucky. Because of the market, she got a good price on it, but she managed to get a contract on her condo after being on the market just 3 days.

Right now, unfortunately, she is in Jamaica for a wedding and waiting for the uninvited guest - Gustav.

There is a nice quilt shop in La Plata - where my younger one lives, called Material Girls. There used to be another one in Waldorf that had good prices and sales, but they went out of business.

Congratulations! I hope you love yours as much as I love mine! Don't forget to join the chat forum at APQS (unless you have already). Clean house and home cooked meals have gone by the wayside here at my house! I'm too busy quilting! LOL! ~~~~~~~ Laurie G. in CA
