Is there a Bernina quilters discussion group?

We just got a Bernina 640E with Editor Plus software and the embroidery module. My wife is an experienced quilter and has a Bernina 150. I have never sewn, quilted or embroidered before. The new machine has a decent manual but I sure would like to find a discussion group.

Testing group sharing of photos. If this works here is a picture of my first and only quilt block. Its about 24"x24" and I am just now starting to quilt it. However, I got bogged down in several issues learning how to operate the new sewing machine.

You can sign up here for a list group. You can get many questions answered through posts on these groups.

You might also search Yahoo Groups. I know there are several Pfaff groups -- so I"m assuming there are probably Bernina groups as well!

Have fun playing with your new toy!

I did a quick search -- and looks like there are 46 groups! So I'm sure you will find one or two that will help you out!

Jerry, there are several Bernina fanatics here but I don't know that any of us have a 640E. We'll be glad to help you when we can but you just may become our latest model expert. Teresa in Colorado is our Bernina dealer but they're having a serious dose of weather right now. I speak 1230 and

155 but haven't learned the newest. Polly

Jerry, there are several Bernina discussion groups. There's even one specifically for the 630/640/730, though the discussion there tends to be heavily slanted toward the embroidery functions (I don't have that part for my 630). It's at . There's another for the Aurora models (430/440), which are quite similar to the 640 (but simpler): . HTH! :)

I know you want to finish that quilt, but you'll enjoy it more if you do a few hours of practice on something else! Like a 12" square sandwich using the same kind of fabric and batting. Much easier to maneuver, so you can concentrate on techniques and not be afraid to make mistakes. Helps to use loud contrasting thread too, so you can see what's going on. Roberta in D

I have that machine and software... but I don't know of any discussion group. So far when I've needed help, I just go to the store and ask.

I still haven't figured out the software in terms of designing my own, but I really need to.
