We got a new 640E a few weeks ago and have been attending the training sessions. Neither the manual that came with the machine or the manual for the training sessions contain a complete list of stitches available on the machine. The Bernina web site does not seem to be any help.
Does anyone know of a source for a "complete" stitch listing?

You should be able to see them on the display, Jerry. Just scroll through the lists. :)
You paid for all thoses stitches, Jerry. Well, I 'assume' you did and the
640E isn't 'hot'. It would be well worth your while to start doing trial samples of the stitches plus the possible variables. I keep a shoebox full of trials so when I want to go back to a great discovery I can just pick it up and go. It's fun to do the 'what ifs'. What if you set the stitch width as wide as it will go or much narrower? What if you use the elongate function? A combination of two variables? Right now I'm really enjoying a variation of the stitch that might be used for blind-hemming. I have the stitch length set really short, the bite swing on 'just barely' and the needle position on hard right. Polly"Sandy Foster" wrote> You should be able to see them on the display, Jerry. Doing the stitch samples with the variations sounds great. I have been playing around with the various stitches but had not considered saving the samples for reference.
However, does this mean you do not know a printed source for the various stitches?

I always just flip through menus until I find something I like. I haven't looked through the manuals to find a stitch listing. There wasn't a brochure with all stitches listed that I recall.

One of the ladies on the Janome stand at one show, showed me her samples
- she had made all the samples the same size and had sewn them into a little book. My Janome does show all the stitches on a pop-up 'board' actually on the machine; *but* the little drawings can only give you an indication. They are not to scale (just drawn to all fit onto the board), and you can't get the effect very well. I suspect this might be the case even if you did find a little booklet or something with them all in. I'm sure your own samples, with the size variations will be hugely useful to you in the long run. Did the 640 come with a CD? My 440 did. The stitches on shown on the CD. They are also in the back of the manual.

Thanks, Bev (countryone77) that was exactly what I was looking for. I saved the chart to my computer and then eliminated the machines that I did not need. This gave me a very neat five page chart that I printed out for my quilting notes collection.
