Just for Fun

Warning. This is an enabling post. =) Wanting to add a purple border to my 'anything goes' very scrappy quilt top, I went to

formatting link
and typed in: sale purple stripe. I know you're busy and have a budget but my golly! at the pretty fabrics they show and the prices don't make me faint ( or moan ). Haven't been able to choose yet but it is much like going to a wonderful quilt shop and staying as long as I want to. Polly

Well. For goodness sake! I can't believe there's not one here who loves to shop that hasn't responded. I just thought for sure that somebody would enjoy the journey or find something very special. Polly

In my case Polly it is more 'can't afford to shop' so its easier not to look than be tempted. Plus I'm not really into purple either.

Ditto from me too.

I purchased anew roller cuter so I am going to be doing lots of cutting over the weekend. I did look but when my new cutter arrived today from the USA, I stopped and thought about what I am going to do.

I looked, really I did. And know how much fabric is in my stash, I have so far resisted temptation to buy any more.

But for those who couldn't resist/needed something in particular, when Polly recommends a site, it is almost always a good one!

Polly, I spent Wednesday at a quilt show in St. George, UT. Guess where my fabric budget went? ;) Actually, I have enough fabric now that I don't buy that much these days, except to fill in "holes" for a project. Naturally, a visit to St. George also meant a visit to the Superior Thread place -- what nice people they are! I did buy a couple of small cones of thread, one of them a new kind (Magnifico) that I want to try out.

I'll be spending today writing a letter to DGD's kindergarten class (all grandparents are asked to write to the class ) and doing some mindless paper piecing for a guild challenge. All of that while keeping one eye on the window to watch for the UPS truck with my new iPhone. :) I have a "deal" where I can sell my older one for enough to pay for most of what the new one is costing me, so I think it's a no-brainer.

Now that the heart attack is over from looking at the SALE PRICES!!!!!!!!!

SALE----$7.95!!!!!!!!!!

when that was the normal price from when I was purchasing fabric, I'm gonna gather up my courage and see if I can find licorice candy once again. Last time I just got 'licorice colored fabric'....same when I typed in 'Avocado' and 'Avocado-food'..lots of shades of 'green'. I keep hoping someone will have it.

I'm pretty limited on computer time even with my new glasses. Yes, Miz Polly, I tried contacts from April to Sept.this year and the migraines within 2 hours just wasn't worth it altho I had super clear vision--and had to wear 'granny glasses' for reading. Just very chemical sensitive. Contacts were not the problem---solutions were. Cataract(s) surgery is 5 yrs away.

Butterfly (it's good to be back)
