Looking for some quilty news

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking on the group for a couple of weeks, but haven't posted anything yet. I wanted to introduce myself and make a request.

My name is Kelly Smith and in September I published my first book - Open Your Heart with Quilting. It's an inspirational "why to" book with a little bit of "how to" - sort of a cross between Chicken Soup for the Soul and the Dummies series. I interviewed more than 30 quilters for the book, including Alex Anderson, M'Liss Rae Hawley, Caryl Bryer Fallert, and Cathy Miller.

I also recently started writing a quilting column for Examiner.com focusing on anything quilting-related and especially on quilting in Michigan and the Great Lakes area where I live. This leads me to my request:

If any of you know of interesting new products, people, books, techniques, or patterns, or have news of any shows, classes, or retreats, would you let me know? Although the focus of my column is mainly Michigan and the surrounding states, I have featured book reviews (The Lover's Knot), interviews (Mark Lipinski and Laura Lea Bailey), and general quilting information and news.

If you have something you think would fit my column, just drop me a line. My website and column links are in my sig and you can contact me that way.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better.

P.S. In the next 4 weeks I'll be featuring interviews with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, so stop by and take a look!
