I've been wondering this and this is the PERFECT group to ask - I don't think there's another better!
It looks like we might be moving ... and IF that's the case, I will be getting my own sewing room (YAY!!) ... and one of the *first* things I want in my SR will be a machine quilting set up -- one of those frames that will let me use a home sewing machine (a longarm setup at this point, considering that I don't know if I'll be good at it, is too much $$ for my poor little budget).
I've been looking at the Grace Sturdy line of machine quilting frames ... it says that (within reason) I can use my home sewing machine with it. So ... my questions are:
1) Does anyone know about this particular line, brand or model? If I get this one, I'm sure I'd get it with the "Table-top insert" - whatever that means - I assume it's the thingy that your sewing machine sits on and that you use to move the machine back and forth?2) And how large does what part of my sewing machine need to be?? I know
*nothing* about this sort of thing!! Can ya'll tell?! :(and 3) if I set up my home SM for this, can I remove it and use it for regular sewing? Or does it have to stay set up 24/7? Or is it one of those cases where I *can* remove it, but won't want to, due to the trouble and energy it takes?
Thank you guys!! You have no idea how excited I am!! I've been walking on air since hubby broke the news - pretty good for someone with a high-grade fever and that oh-so-oogie feeling from flu meds!! :)
Warm quilty hugs!!
