Mailing a quilt

Aug 21, 2007 3 Replies

I am looking for a box or something sturdy enough to mail a queen size quilt.

I've had a suggestion of a blanket box. But everything I've found on the net is what I consider a blanket chest.

Any suggestions as to where to look and what to ask for.

I have had luck with going to the local UPS/FedEX shipment store and looking for the most size appropriate boxes to ship whatever I want. They have some that are of a grade that is called something like "Art Shipping Quality" boxes or something like that. They are made a bit thicker and are more sturdy than just your run of the mill cardboard box. That has served most of my needs for shipment of things that I didn't want to arrive in pieces or dammaged.

Hey John

Thanks for the idea. Checked for Fed Ex and there is a Kinkos about

30 miles from me.

This quilt is for my niece. She has been waiting 3 years for me to make it.

With your help she will finally get her big hug from Auntie.

Thanks John.
