Life returning to normal

finally after three years. We in Mississippi don't have all the LQS or SM dealers returning after the storm. Even Joann Fabrics left never to return.

BUT....... We are having two... count 'um... two quilt shows this fall. The first one is 10-12 October in Hattiesburg in the Convention Hall and the second is at the Community College in Perkinston Mississippi on Nov 15, 16.

(Big Sigh) shows within an afternoon's drive.

Hey Polly, stop playing with the gators, grab your student and lets all go play for a few hours. By the way my free motion feathers still look like warts on a tooth pick.

Kate T and I have been friends for years but the vendors at the Hattiesburg show didn't know it. We waited a long time for Kate to have her turn at trying out the longarm at the show. Kate was looking at machines and books; I was loving every bolt of fabric in another area. Anyhow. Finally, Kate got her turn at the longarm and was stitching away. I eased through the crowd at the longarm and said in a loud, obnoxious voice, "Hey lady, your feathers look like Warts on a Toothpick. If that's the best you can do, you might as well go home and not waste your money." Bwaaahaha. It's still funny. Kate simply howled. The longarm vendor ladies nearly fainted dead-away. How I do love to set Kate up. Maybe we need to get out more. (Maybe not.) Polly

Oh how I wish I'd been there!!!! Yes, I do think you should take your act on the road. How about coming to the Des Moines show in October? I know of some rooms available!

Its really nice when the two shows are no more than 30 miles apart. What a gas saver.

And ladies you don't know what your in for when you invite Polly along for a road trip to a quilt show. The one thing I've learned is to take along a large box of tissues for wiping away the tears of laughter. Anyone is fair game for one of her ambushes, waitresses, vendors, quilters, you....

We will manage to get together at a quilt show one day. Be planning your disguise - just in case we want to go back. And I am very kind to waitresses. I only told one that she just Had to give Kate a senior citizen's discount because Kate is really, really old. Polly

You would surely smile if you could see what's going on here right now, Dee. DH has tied some ropes to the feeder for the Cardinals and secured them to concrete blocks. The Cardinals are delighted; couldn't be happier. They are swinging on the ropes and playing trapeze. We don't yet have the edges of Hurricane Ike but if any of the weather prognosticators are right, we're about to get some heavy weather. Polly
