Marking quilts for quilting

Many of us have tried using Press'n Seal to mark our tops for machine quilting, and it works very well. However, some have reported problems with tearing the PnS off afterwards. Someone on a Bernina list I read came up with a brilliant modification of the method! Go see it at -- it seems as though it would work just great. :)

Wow! Thanks Sandy. It really does look as if it has great potential. I am a great P&S fan (I haven't had particular problems in taking it off). I have never seen a 'pounce pad' (other than on my kitties!), but I'll look around now. A most interesting idea. . In message , Sandy Foster writes

Don't mean to intrude on this cool idea but I use an old sock filled with cornstarch for dark fabrics and cinnamon for light fabrics instead of "ponch pads". If you are doing a large area I suggest a "light" spray of aerosol hairspray does the trick. Just wait a minute for it to dry and quilt on. Works with stencils, tissue paper, and needle punched paper patterns. My classes love it.
