May I Join Your Group?

My name is Twila and I live in Willow, Alaska. I am new to quilting so I found your group on the web. You sound like a bunch of fun and helpful women. Can you "make room" for one more?

Sure, Twila! pull up a cyber chair to the quilt frame and pass the chocolate. (we assume you like chocolate as much as we do.)

Hi Twila, welcome! I'm kinda new here too and you couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of folks. If you have any quilting questions, all you need to do is ask, and several will jump right in to help you. I've learned so much from all of them. I hope you stay for awhile and get to know all of us. Donna

Welcome, Twila! The collective wisdom (and wit) of this group rivals any other quiltmaking resource you could find -- more than any book, magazine, or DVD I've found. I'm fairly new to the quilting game, so I have lots of questions, and every time I ask one here, I learn soooooo much.

Your chocolate is safe with me. I don't even like chocolate. Gives me hives.

you just did, Twila. just grab a chair off the wall and find a nice spot round the cyberquilting frame. watch out for the young'uns underneath tho. they'll steal the bowl of m'n'm's quick as you can say 'who has the chocolate?'. they're sneaky wee critters. j.

Welcome, Twila. Come sit over here beside me and I will protect you. Some of the quilters here are rather peculiar. Do you have a QI? (quilt inspector ... easily accomplished by a kitty but others are remarkably capable). This group is just incredibly blessed with experts on all matters and nothing makes us happier than to hold your hand while you venture into quilting. Polly

Welcome Twila. It may surprise you to know that we do have a member from Alaska! His name is Steven, and he does beautiful appliqué. So you won't feel quite alone to start with. He's always very busy, so doesn't message as much as he and we would like, but you'll 'meet' him eventually.

I am late welcoming you, by the way, because I've only just got up. I'm in England!

Have you decided on what kind of patchwork and quilting you like? or are you going to try lots of techniques and styles until you find where you are happiest?

Tell us a little about yourself - we like to get to know new colleagues as quickly as possible! (Just that - not that we're nosey >gMy name is Twila and I live in Willow, Alaska. I am new to quilting so I

Welcome to the best-est quilting group online! Pull up a chair... and coffee....and chocolate! One of the greatest things about this group is that someone usually can answer any question ever put out (with a sense of humor, too, I might add!) ME-Judy (waaay over in Maine)

Hello Twila! Welcome to the Land of RCTQ. We have fun here, no moderator, no rules. The only thing you really need to know is that it is very wise to have your chocolate vetted. Just send a pound or two to the Office of the Official Chocolate Taster of RCTQ, which is in my Palace here in Virginia. I will test and taste and report back via email. You don't have to thank me ... this is my unselfish volunteer duty in RCTQ. A tough Hwe job, but someone's gotta do it. :)

Oh Darlin', there's always room for more and besides, I think you're already one of 'us'. We have all been new quilters. Now, we're all still quilters but a few of us are old..... (bad joke). It's really good to meet you and I hope to hear much more about you, what you do, what you like to quilt and what kind of sewing machine you have and what kind you lust for and .......... all that stuff. So pull up a chair and get comfy cuz once you're here, you're never going to want to leave.

Welcome home, Sunny

You're just saying that because I'm the only one with 8,500 gators, more or less. Mostly less just now. A few gangs are out trying to catch the eye (or whatever) of the tourists on spring break. They pretend to just be warming their bellies on the nice hot interstate. We really need a warning sign that says 'please do not feed the gators'. Polly
