Merry Christmas

It's early Christmas morning and my far away family is here for the Holidays. Life is good. Right now it's very quiet at my house, the mouse and I are the only ones up and I have my doubts about the mouse. The quiet is about to change. I'm expecting 11 for breakfast and then 14 for dinner (some of them are the same people). Guess where I'll be most of the day? Yep, in the kitchen but then that's where most people hang out anyway so that's not so different. We are blessed - we have a kitchen, food, friends and family. How could anyone ask for much more. Happy Holidays, all you RCTQers. I count you amongst my friends and family. Donna in Bellevue

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope your day today is as good as ours was yesterday.

Weather was better than the forecast and we didnt get the showers that we expected.

DD was home with her partner and some of his family joined us for lunch so we had 8 sitting around the table enjoying roast pork, turkey roll and chicken along with roast pumpkin, potatoes, onions, carrots and sweet potato. peas and cauliflower in cheese sauce.

For dessert they enjoyed pavlova and plum pudding while I sat there wishing I could have some but as my sugar reading was up I wasnt game enough to try it. Days before Christmas wasnt a good time to be diagnosed with diabetes !

Gosh Dee your meal sounds wonderful. I hope you are able to get the swing of the changes in eating and cooking soon. It is like you need to become a chemist. Be well. Got a call from DD early yesterday morning. She was really sick and we pretty much put off Christmas dinner around here. We ended up doing chicken on the bbq. Boy was that a great meal in the middle of winter! Pretty sad seeing the presents still under the tree today.

Hope all you folks travelling home stay safe. Taria

I went and looked. I loved Nancy Drew when I was younger. Always a fun read. With 2 sons we also read Hardy Boys. Those were good days. These days I see them when they can come home for a visit and then they are involved with video gaming. I'm not complaining but it's a different world from the one in which they grew up. Happy New Year to all. Donna in Bellevue
