Metal bobbins

I have some metal bobbins from one of my old machine. I have had no use for them for a long time and wonder if any of you still use them. I would be happy to send them to you.

If you don't get any takers why not use the old bobbins to hold small amounts of thread for applique projects?

I keep all the colours I need in a tiny case by winding thread onto old bobbins. A small plastic soap dish with a snap lid will hold about 15 bobbins - that is usually more colours than I need. Or I thread them all on a single long spool to keep them together. It makes it easy to take everything I need around with me, and those little pink Bobbin Buddies prevent the threads tangling.

Bobbins are a lot less "bulky" than normal thread spools.

I mark my bobbins so they don't get mixed up. Any bobbins not used in my machine (old, damaged, incorrect size/style) are marked and used to hold threads for handsewing and travel kits.

My old machine wont use plastic bobbins for some reason, it just hates them! I had such a nest when I tried to use them I gave up and went back to my metal ones. Guess you just cant teach an old SM new tricks. She is MUCH happier with her metal ones and when she is happy, so is ME! lol
