new quilt photo

I just posted a pic of the last quilts I completed. I am trying to make one for each of my family members. The bright one called Ciao Luca! is for my brand new nephew which I got to name (Luca was my name for Sofi if she had been a boy, although it goes a lot better with Vignali than with Vila). The second one was for my only brother in law, who I had so far ignored quilt wise, that is.

Your millennium quilt turned out just beautiful, Marissa. IT might have taken a longish time, but it really does look great. And I love Anamorphosis (but then I would, wouldn't I?!) . In message , DrQuilter writes

Thank you for sharing your photos, I enjoyed seeing them. Your quilts are beautiful. I liked that you rescue quilts too. I've got some old dresden plate blocks I bought on ebay. 4 of them that I need to redo. I must post them on my webshots page one day... and get some opinions... . Loved the pics of your home and quilting studio too. Elly

Thanks everybody! It is always good to get nice feedback... As you can see, I like colour - the three you guys mentioned, Y2K+7, Anamorphosis and Ciao Luca are all very bright and use lots of colours.

I have a hunch some of the old ladies at my guild attribute it to my southern european genes (you know, passionate italians and spanish! :o)

I am still working on my brother's wedding quilt (under WIPs), have about 1/4 of the half circles done. That will also have 12 batiks, but all in the yellow-orange-pink-purple-red-violet family, with a grey/purple that is constant throughout). I am still not sure how to set them. Suggestions welcome!

Those circles look luscious! If you can get hold of the old book "Log Cabin Quilts" by Bonnie Leman and Judy Martin, it has a page of LC setting variations. Since your blocks are also more or less divided diagonally into contrasting color areas, any LC set would work. Roberta in D
