My Singer Touch and Sew died... bought a new Janome
Pami, you made an excellent choice! IMNSHO I've had my 6600 for a few months and just LOVE it! It feels so 'substantial'- the auto thread cutter, the needle down and the knee lever to lift the presser foot are wonderful to have! Every feature is made with the quilter in mind.... well, except for one darn thing. Janome is known for lousy lighting. The two lamps my dealer bragged about so much- sheesh. One is behind the auto threader and throws a shadow on the needle and the second one.... I don't even remember where it is, but it's not very useful.
Buy your self a lamp and have a blast with your new beauty!

What a wonderful machine! I would love to have a 6600. From what I have learned it is a wonderful machine.
Good for you!!!

Congratulations, Pami! I am sure you will love that new Janome.
Good for you, Pami! I've heard great things about Janomes -- enjoy! :)
It's my cancer free for now gift.....last year this time I thought I would have to wipe out the sewing room and give all my stuff away but I made it through......the rain as Barry Mainlow would sing... I had to make a decision as to keep sentimental values or live my life to the fullest. Now maybe I can make interesting blocks!! Pami
Pami - I have a Singer 648 which I still use. I will happily take your extra bits & pieces. Please contact me if we can make an deal. Congrats on your new machine. I'm sure that it will quieter than that 648! From a lurker, MCA in AZ
It means so much to me that all of you are glad I treated myself. I actually felt held back with my older machine as much as I loved it... but at age 52 now and having that machine with me.... brand new then....since my 8th grade years... I thought it was time. It would of cost way to much to fix. Yes....cancer is bad it's wicked...chemo is brutal. I still look at my scars and want to cry but I have projects I want to finish and leave memories one day for my family. My dad's hobby was wood-working and I have so many things he made. I also joined Red Hat Ladies!! Pami
I have had the 6600 now for about 6 months and I love it! It does its share of little embroidery bits for straight sewing and letters, but as for making a logo (stated in another post) it just won't cut it. It isn't an embroidery machine. When looking at machines I could have purchased an embroidery machine but the 6600 was better for quilting, so I got it and haven't been sorry.
Have fun! If you have any questions, please post. I'm sure you will get answers from us 6600 owners. (Probably some from some who don't own one either, LOL)
Howdy!
Yee-Haw!
Good for you, Pami, good for you!
Watch out, now, for others (back off, Pat in Va!) who will offer to help you celebrate by letting you treat them to ...whatever, too. Once you start partying you could just lose control. B-fly: down, girl! I'll just have one of these big chocolate cookies in your honor: To Health!
R/Sandy-- I *know* this begging bunch! ;-D
Congrats on your new purchase! I have one and love it. I also have added another light in front of the machine to help me see better. Glad you are doing well now, start sewing and don't stop LOL

Pami, I'm so glad for you that you treated yourself to a wonderful new SM. I'm drooling for a 6600 myself. Now, go sew with it and come back and report.
Hugs, Sunny
Oh, you are going to LOVE that machine. I've had mine for a little under a year now. I love my old Bernina 830 and wouldn't part with it for the world BUT, the 6600P rocks!! Good for you for treating yourself. Nobody deserves it more :-)
