NEW SHOES!!!

And I can wear BOTH of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited.

First of all, this is the FIRST new pair of shoes in 3 years. I actually wore the Velcro out on the right one. It sure has the miles on it.

Anyway, they're New Balance all around shoes and since I had a Written Prescription from the Dr, I got 10% off even tho they were on sale this week. YYAAYY!

And I wore them all the way home. I have to start slow (20 min)and work my way up to full time. So Das Boot is for 'back-up' ; when my foot gets tired or swells. I should.be in shoes entirely by the END of April.....

Foot is healed but won't be 'completely healed' for an entire year.

DD is out of the cast and in her own Das Boot. She can't wear mine as her foot is longer than mine... we tried. She starts with 25% body weight by the end of the month. She is still pretty limited in activity and now will be in PT 3x's a week instead of 5. She's getting there.

You sure have had a long hard road (sorry for the pun but I couldn't resist!) with your foot, Butterfly. Happy to hear progress is being made and hopefully soon 'Das Boot' will spend more time in the closet than on your foot.

Watch at your own risk, but these ads have everybody in Germany ROFL. (The text goes something like this. The girls get their new shoes delivered, the camp supervisor blows his whistle and orders "Take them off immediately!" Girls look sad, camp supervisor says, "Not you, him!"

Too funny! At least I won't ever have to worry about wearing 'heels' again. Dr warned me ahead of time..but I told him being able to walk was more important than wearing heels. He did the surgery and as of today I can wear SHOES for 30 min.

It had been so LONG since I've been able to 'walk normally' that last night I had leg cramps! Yes, I was 'warned' I may or may no have them.

But I'm walking--next is sitting by the SM......

It's great to hear of your progress B'fly. One thing I can perhaps help with - if you are able to drink it? Ordinary tonic water is supposed to help with night leg cramp. I get it a lot and, if I do have some tonic around, it does seem to help. A slice of lemon with it is lovely (and, in your climate, ice!! - though I don't suppose you would consider drinking it without!) .
