Notes to self...

1.Don't have people over. 2.Just smile and say Thank you as they admire the quilt on the wall. 3.Don't say " It looks complicated, but isn't".
  1. Don't say "She's got other patterns in that style"
5.Certainly don't start up the computer and bring up the website of said designer. 6.Don't agree, however casually,to make those quilts with those EXACT fabrics. 7.Your eyes are going to bug out looking at all the different batiks in the quilt and on the moniter. 8.Don't spend hours looking at and ordering 50 plus fabrics from HoP.The cart can't handle that much stuff. 9.You ought to get a discount or free shipping on over $500 spent. 10.It's nice spending other people's money. 11.Oh Gawd,I need to clean up my studio!!!

LOL...... I can relate to most but I never agree to make a quilt with those EXACT fabrics.

The quilt is "Pepperdish" from

I did the background in a medium orange with yellow interlocking stars and similar colors for the rest of the quilt. DB chose "Raindrops" and Jumping Jax Flash". Gonna be a long summer...

One has to buy a little extra on account of shrinkage, right?

Reply to

Oh yes absolutely! fabric has this nasty habit of shrinking 30% in the wash and then growing 29% of the amount that shrunk back after the "scraps" have been put in the stash

naughty fabric!

the pepperdish is beautiful! I'd love to see your one with orange :-D you are going to be kept *very* busy doing those two for your brother though I am wondering what kind of D the brother is going to be during this summer while you piece this LOLOL

I made Judy's echo stars last year and am planning the north American bearpaw one sometime in the future

He lives about 50 miles away and doesn't come down very often.I could use some babysitting and housekeeping, though. He was told that it took me about

1.5 months to piece the pickledish so not to expect it tomorrow! With 2 kids I'm busy ,but I can keep everything out in my studio(part of basement) so when I have a free minute I sew. I love most of Judy N's patterns. They're all very striking and with the PPing simple to do.

I'm not one for buying patterns, but I may be rethinking that after seeing this site! They're beautiful!

I know the feeling - I have 2 kids and an ex - quilting time is found by keeping the sewing machine out in the living room so I can sew when I get a spare moment

you had better tell him to take the kids for a weekend sleepover or three so you can get it done faster hehehehe

Hmmm,my brother and my kids???When he was still married he called them his dose of birth control.LOL Plus he's got a very spartan bachelor apartment.Although he could entertain them here. We've got several state parks and free zoo nearby.Ammunition..

They are beautiful and for the most part easy to construct. The hardest part is picking fabric. There are curved seams in alot of them, but a little pinning and you're good to go.

I can hear cogs turning from over here - evil plots are being plotted hehehehehe

They are aturnin'!I'm sure he could be persuaded to watch them.He could come over on his off days,or at least one of them. DH is a truck driver so I get alot of sewing done when he's home. It'll be better when DS14 goes back to school and I just have DD3.5.
