OT Blabbermouth Polly again

Just one more thing before I put my old body to bed. (And I am delighted to report that my brain is recovering, I can actually walk down the hall and remember why I went there.) Don't buy a car until you Know where it's been. The news says there were 300,000 "new" cars damaged in the storm. Along with the angels and heroes, hurricanes also bring out the thugs. They will tidy up those cars and give you a real good deal. Right. Real good. They will fail to mention that it has been given a hefty snort of salty, polluted water. And they may also forget to mention that it was here before it was shipped to your area. I would impress you with my Latin vocabulary . . . something about Buyer Beware but I do so hate to show off. This happened in NC after Flooding Flloyd hit. Big scandal, and because of it we all know the name of our state's DA... he did lots of radio and tv commercials. Can't remember who he is now, tho.

I read this same thing on the news yesterday. Makes me wonder how people will be able to tell? Wonder if CarFax will have that information in it's database.

Thanks for the warning, Polly! That's something that might not occur to some of us.

I've heard of that nefarious practice during other flood situations. Speaking of cars - has anyone seen the new 2006 Chevy HHR?? I am so in love with that vehicle and it comes in Amethyst!! - the most gaw-jus purple you ever did see!! SIGH!! It's a good thing I love my PHS Blazer because I will never buy a new car again.
