OT: Can anyone explain this

Ever run into something that just boggles the mind? Yesterday, out in the woods in the large local wilderness park, I found something that has me completely mystified.

I swear I am not making this up, and I had nothing to do with it except taking the photos. (Scroll down to see all)

Howdy!

Sirius Black is on the other side.

Go ahead; see for yourself. .. just leave directions to your stash before you go thru' it.

R/Sandy -- it's in Texas, right? *snerk*

p.s. It's a Christo Test; he wants to see how it goes before he brings in the truckloads...

I love it! I think it stands for all the places we used to love but that we can't go back to because they only exist in another time.

Looks like something my art grad student son would do. Public art. Actually I love it....the responses are probably just what an artist would want to evoke. No answers, just questions. And yes, something that Christo might do!

Actually I would love to use the picture as a writing prompt for my

5th graders if you don't mind.

You have my permission, gladly! I'd be interested to see what they come up with. It certainly pokes the imagination.

I've since learned it was an art project, but I still don't know who did it or why. I have an incredible urge to sneak back out and leave it a welcome mat. And then a little mailbox. And then a doorknob flyer for Avon or a pizza chain. Then a pot of geraniums or a little ceramic dog...

To me it looks like a door to go into and find all your dream places with cool stuff going on, but from this side totally unapparent.

Monique, That is just hysterical!! I would have laughed my butt off if I had seen that. Then I would have run over and gone thru the door to see if it took me somewhere different.

I love it!! What a great photo. Thanks for sharing,

then you'd be leaving the original artist a puzzle of their own.....that would be fun! Allison

Go for it! If you start it, I'll bet others will follow with things of their own. Should be fun. Gen

This morning The Door is going to acquire a doorknob-flyer from a lawn care service...

I really wanted one of the UPS "Dear Mr. Park, we tried to deliver your package" stickers, but they won't give you blank ones.
