Someone has requested I sew a duvet for their son. It will be for a double bed which is 54X75 inches. Presumed finished size would be 75X90. If she provides fabric what would you charge for something like this? I know they are easy for me to make but have never done one so I have no idea how much time I would be putting into on. What makes them tricky is the sheer size of the fabric pieces. Sorry, I can't remember how long it took me last time I made one. I know that an overlocker/serger would make it *much* faster and easier.

If you are making the duvet cover and you can't find backing fabric that you like, try bed sheets - the next size up probably. This is what I did decades ago. I also used velcro tabs for the closure - spaced evenly across. I also made mine with a 'sandwich bag' type top, i.e., flip over a 10 inch or so piece to hold the duvet in the 'bag'. Then put the velcro taps on that. As to fee, I would figure out how much you want per hour and figure at least 2-3 hours for the sewing, trimming, etc.
