OT: DH in Hospital - Kind of long

HI there Louise I just happened to pop in here and saw your letter. Gosh what a shock to read your letter. Thankfully all appears to be in the success mode now. So both look forward to spending a wonderful Christmas together. My very best wishes to you both.

KJ, in case you check e-mail from the hospital, I probably won't be down until about 1 or 1:30 tomorrow (Wednesday). I'm trying to work in the mornings and then go down in the afternoons to spend some time with him. I'll call him in the morning and tell him to be on the lookout for you!

According to my instructions....I could be there until about 5. So I'll see if I can find you between one of my "naps". I wish it were this time tomorrow night...it would all be over.

It is a very bad thing when one side of your brain is pushed over to the other side. I nearly lost a very close friend to the same sort of thing, only his brain was still slowly bleeding and hadn't formed a clot. His only head injury had been 9 months prior to his symptoms, but the doctors didn't believe that he had been walking around like that for that long. Heck, after looking at the CAT scans the docs didn't believe he had walked into the hospital ER on his own feet and tell them his symptoms either--they said he should have been unable to stand or talk, and most likely be in a coma.

My friend recovered nicely. I'm sure your DH will do just as well. Debra in VA See my quilts at

DH is doing great, Debra! And I'm so glad to hear that your friend recovered, as well. I try not think about the "what ifs," because I know that it could have been much worse if this had continued to go on.

This morning's happy note is that in spite of feeling like he was snarfing down food like it was going out of style while he was in the hospital, he actually lost 4 lbs! I kept telling him it takes calories to heal, and I think he believes me now!
