OT: disaster

I don't think so, since it mounted just fine the night before. However, my almost-local Apple store says to bring the external drive and the new Mac in (after Christmas, of course), and they'll see if they can get my data, or some of it. All of my EQ5 and QP stuff, as well as all of my recipes are in there!

Thanks, Carolyn! In all the years that I've had Macs, I've never had this happen before. Yes, Macs can crash, but not often and they usually don't take their backups with them. :S As for the directory, thanks, but Jeanne has already sent it to me. :)
