Yesterday...

... was my birthday. We headed up to the Twin Cities for brunch with DS and his family & DD and her family. But first a stop at the LQS near DS's house. There I bought a dark blue batik with gold flecks -- perfect for the "night sky" background of the wall hanging on the cover of "Adoration Quilts" I also bought several fat quarters that I think I can use for that project. The store is closing their "bricks-and-mortar" store for personal reasons, so there was a decent discount. After brunch with the kids and grandkids, I headed back to the LQS and bought a couple more pieces that I had looked at earlier. One is the "On the Mend" panel by Loralie Harris and the other is the coordinating print with the ladies.

Among my gifts was this t-shirt:

Unfortunately, it is too tight, so I am going to have to exchange it -- and wait to wear it. :( The size is right, based on their size charts, but I don't like my shirts skin-tight.

DH took me out for dinner last evening -- to the local Holiday Inn where you get a free steak dinner on your birthday :)

This was "my" song yesterday :) and a video

Happy Belated Birthday!

Which shop is closing? Hopefully not one of my "old" favorites! I still visit several whenever I get back to the Twin Cities!

Thanks, Kate! The shop that is closing is the Quilted Shingle in Oakdale. It was really close to my son's house, which made it easy for me to stop in once in a while.

That's one I'd never heard of! I enjoy the shops in Eagan ... and ... can't remember the name at the moment -- maybe Apple Valley?

I'd love to get back to Quilted Treasures in Rogers again... and up to Grubers!

Fabric Town in Apple Valley is a nice one, too. Now that my daughter is in Burnsville, it's real handy to stop there once in a while too. However, I really don't need more fabric and we do have a couple nice shops here in Rochster, so I don't need to go to the Cities for fabric shopping. That's not to say, however, that I don't enjoy it -- and no one said I had to wait until I needed fabric to buy it.
