OT Fort Hood, TX

Michelle: We lived in Killeen/Hood area twice ... in early 70s and again 70s/80s. So I guess our time there overlapped a bit with yours. (The quilting community is such a small town, yes?) I really liked the post and the area. We have such nice memories. I did not quilt then, but was cross-stitching to beat the band! Pat in Virginia

I worked as a Government employee at Ft. Hood for 30 years and retired in

2004. I was there when the Luby's incident occurred and that memory is still fresh. Now this. It's so gut wrenching because it was done by a military member. Somehow being on a military post is one of the safest feelings in the world, but now that feeling of security has been destroyed. I can't imagine how this will affect all those who work there. My prayers are with them as well as the victims and their families. Michelle G. .

My heart goes out to everyone there! We were at Lackland AFB in San Antonio this weekend for our grandson's boot camp graduation when we heard the news of the shooting.
