Finished my vest

Okay, maybe I should have marked this as OT, since the vest isn't quilted, but it is patchwork (seminole), so I thought it might qualify. Anyway, the vest I made from some gorgeous Cherrywood fabrics (how do they make it look like suede that way???) I found in Houston is now finished. Pics are at . Now to find something to wear with it. ;)

Lovely! I have a small stash of Cherrywood fabrics. Bravo to you for having the confidence to cut them up! I just caress mine. Kathyl

Beautiful fabric, color choices, pattern and vest. Just wondering . . . why didn't you quilt it? Polly

Thanks, Kathyl -- they came with the pattern, so that gave me some incentive. ;) Otherwise, I'd have been like you.

Thanks, Edna. :)

Thanks, Polly. :) It doesn't have any batting (or even flannel) inside, since warmth isn't particularly necessary here. Besides, I was having some fitting problems and didn't want to lose any inches off of the vest.

Good thinking. Just wondered. It wouldn't have crossed my mind that quilting would affect size but, of course, it would. It would probably also have made the vest warmer which is not always a good thing. Now. I want to touch it. Shouldn't cost you much to mail it to me. It's just a vest, you know. Polly

LOL, Sandy, after Polly gets done touching it, she can pass it on to me so I can caress it too......maybe we can pass it around for a bit to share the good feel of it! Beautiful work and enjoy all the compliments you're going to get! Donna

Gorgeous! I'd wear it with black pants or skirt, black or white top.

Stunning, Sandy. I love those colours. You made it beautifully. Seminole is so very attractive.

I bought Cherrywoods when I was in Paducah with Leslie! They are waiting for me to draw up one of my larger project ideas ... ... My colours are almost all on the dark side, because they will all be used with cream, but they are still gorgeous. . In message , Sandy writes

So do I, Kathyl! So far ... ... but they do have a 'life' in mind >g< . In message , Kathyl writes

Thanks, Pat! I have drooled over these fabrics for years and never bought any before now. I think the dark colors and jewel tones show best how lovely they are. :)

Thanks, Julia. :) The pants or skirt aren't a problem, but the top is. I'm thinking of a blue top -- maybe navy, maybe royal or a bit lighter. And that's what I'm missing. I did try a white top with it, but it seemed to "fight" with the bright colors of the vest; I think it needs something a bit more subdued.

Contrary to how it looks, Polly, it doesn't *feel* like suede. It may take me some time to find just the right envelope .... ;)

ROFLOL! Donna, I'm looking, as I told Polly, for just the right envelope .... ;)

Great job on the vest! Don't you just love Cherrywood fabrics? I bought a bundle when I was in Houston, several years ago!

Your vest is absolutely gorgeous. Fabulous pattern and you used my favorite colors! If you can't find anything to go with it, I can! ;-)
