Happy dance for the finished x-mas present quilt!

Yeah! - just got it finished in time to be dropped off tomorrow. It's a pink quilt for a very pink little girl, my niece Phoebe. She's 4 and I don't think I've seen her wear anything that isn't pink! I'm the opposite, so it was a whole new buying experience - I had no pink at all. It was nice to be able to use some of the breast cancer awareness fabrics. I can talk to her about them when she is older and one of her Grandmothers works with a cancer charity, so there are some nice links there. Anyway, if you fancy a look:

I hope everyone has a great Christmas/Holiday or celebration of whatever you cherish. Don't forget to give yourself a little present and take the time to do the thing you want to do the most.

That is absolutely gorgeous Jo - your niece is going to love it for sure. I love the way you quilted it too - must try that on my next one. My Granddaughter had requested a purple, blue and pink quilt a while back - she got it. It's fun experimenting with colours you don't usually consider picking up. Merry Christmas.

Oh that's beautifully pink, Jo. She will love it. The backing is wonderful. Congratulations. (Dyeing and I don't get along too well!) . In message , Jo Pender writes

It's perfect! What a gorgeous quilt....I love the way you dyed the back. And I agree about the quilting. It's something I would like to try.

I agree! It is lovely! I am a pink person myself. When I graduated from high school I requested all of my college things in pink. I used pink luggage until about 10 years ago (that means about 20 years). My oldest niece requested her graduation quilt to be pink and I made the jewel box design with 40 different pinks, and white. Her sister will graduate this year and wants her quilt to be pink and black so she is getting a faux stained glass design with seven different pinks. Isn't it fun - sharing.

Jo the quilt is beautiful. I am going to start my first quilt here soon and I just can't wait. I still have the same excitement that I had in August, just several major set backs in getting it started.

I have planned on taking my Christmas tree down tomorrow but yesterday morning I woke up with pneumonia and so I have been in bed most of yesterday and today and tomorrow, once I get dinner over with I am sure I will be ready to crash. The doctor actually said I had the flu and pneumonia and all I know is I feel like I have been run over by a big Mack truck and survived. I praying for a wonderful New Year for everyone. I kind of think I deserve it, but it is up to our Lord what happens and I will take the cards He deals and go with them.

Please pray for me and all the others that are sick with this bug that is going around.

Merry Christmas,

Thank you Carole,

I do have pneumonia, I figured it before the chest x-ray confirmed it, just by the way I felt and have had it so many times before that I just know what it is like. I have done nothing much but sleep the last three days, so much so that here it is 3:30 AM and I am wide awake, but so tired I can barely hold my head up. I finally got my kitchen cleaned up, I hated to try and cook Christmas dinner in that mess. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I said what all I had to do today and both of my sisters offered to do some of it. May be there is hope yet.

Merry Christmas to all,

Jacqueilne >Jacqueline, you take care of yourself! Pneumonia can really knock you

Thank you all for being so kind, especially about the iffy quilting. Jacqueline, I hope you have a wonderful day, full of people lending a hand - don't over-do it :) (yeah, right, like we don't all over-do it at Christmas) Never mind the tree, concentrate on being well, healthy vibes heading your way.

Looking forward to a healthy new year! Jo P
