Happy Dance!

I finally finished a quilt for my friend Jenny's baby, Olivia Grace. The baby recently turned 1, in May. I'm sure many of you know the way time gets away from you.... Photos are under "Quilts" at:

That is _so_ cute! What kind of batting did you use, it looks nice and comfy.

I used some poly batting I had here in the house. I bought it from Croft Mill. They sell it for a good price, and it's nice to have on hand for that "poofy", easily machine washed quilt.

Beautiful, Jo, I love quilts with triangles. I'm working on this kind of quilt for me, just a little bit larger Heidi from Germany P.S. And you have still the neatest stash I know :-)

That's really pretty, Jo. I like the idea of all those different fabrics, with the single fabric for the other half of the square - nice idea. . In message , Johanna Gibson writes

That's really nice, Jo! I love the gingham background triangles. :) I'm sure Olivia Grace will get lots of use out of it, as well as lots of fun.

Well the thing was, I wanted to do an I-spy quilt, and I also wanted to do a matching game quilt. But at that time I did not own pairs of I-spy fabrics... so I took my biggest ones, and a yard of pink plaid (which doesn't match another pink quilt I'm making) and did half-square triangles! I'm glad it looks "planned" though. Again, I went to the stash cupboard for a pink binding, and after 2 pink quilts (and I don't even like pink) there wasn't enough for the binding, of anything suitable. So I looked, and noticed that the other predominant colour, in the patches, was blue. Aha! Royal blue to the rescue. I think there are very few situations in life where a little royal blue won't sort things out. :)

What a happy quilt. Olivia Grace will be entertained endlessly spying & matching. Great job Jo!
