Happy dance - baby quilt done!

It's finally DONE....the baby quilt I've been working on since Apirl, for a co-worker who is having her very first child at age 42!

So many things have been going on over the past several months, and I'm just really thankful to have it finished *before* the baby arrives, and just in time for the party at work tomorrow!

The quilting was all done 'in the hoop' using a quilting embroidery design & my new Viking D1. I used a Sulky "Blendable" thread in the top and really like the way it came out. I'm also particularly pleased with the label, which is the 2nd one I've created on my new machine. I agonized a bit over the saying and finally found one I liked.

Wonderful quilt, wonderful label . . . I love your choice of backing too. The quilting is so beautiful. I like the looks of the Sulky Blendable thread. What weight is it? It looks a little heavier than what I use and I'm thinking of trying something with that sort of drama. Polly

The quilting suits the patchwork very nicely. I'm happy dancing to "Small World!" ;)

Very cute! Card trick is one of my favorite blocks, and it sure worked up well as a baby quilt. Dancing in the moonlight for ya, Irene!

Polly, thank you :)

The Sulky is 30 weight but that embroidery design is 3 stitches thick. The machine basically does this entire design 3x, with each succession just a hair's length next to the previous one. That's why it looks heavier...it will probably never come apart, too LOL

Very pretty, Irene! Are those little fleur-de-lys you've quilted on the blocks?

Just delightful, Irene! Card trick is one my favorite blocks, but I've never seen it in a baby quilt before. Your co-worker will LOVE it!
