OT: Friend with Aneurysm Update

My friend's son is enrolling as a freshman at Florida State University on Wednesday. A family friend was going to drive him to Tallahassee from Houston so that her husband could stay in Philadelphia with her (the oast time he came home to check on the kids, she had a vasospasm which required an angioplasty procedure and then the nexdt day a blood clot in a leg which required another procedure). When her husband told her he would be staying with her, she became very angry and told him their son needced a parent right now and if it couldn't be her, it had better be him. So he is here in Houston prepearing to drive to Tallahassee, Florida on Tuesday. This morning at 6:15 his phone rang -- a call from Thomas Jefferson Neurological Hospital. It was --- his wife calling him to tell hinm that she had had a good night and was feeling better. They isolated the line that was the site of a staph infection, removed the line and got control of the infectio0n. They have removed other monitoring lines as well. Tomorrow she will have a CT scan; if the scan is good, they will remove the externalized shunt which has been draining excess CSF from her brain. If she continues to improve, she will be moved to a step dowm icu and will begin to receive PT. So, all in all, very good news for this update. Thank you all for your healing thoughts and prayers.

So glad your friend is doing better, Elizabeth. I'd say that telling her husband to take her of their son, is a sign that she is indeed feeling better and is quite lucid. Thanks for sharing the good news. I'm keeping your friend in my thoughts.
